Our church is keen to promote environmental sustainability and do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint.  During 2007, the church decided to audit the energy use of our church’s activities and to reduce our energy use as far as possible.

We accept that global warming is happening; that it is due in part to human activities polluting the atmosphere and that our chance to modify our behaviour and attempt to halt ( and maybe reverse) warming requires immediate and significant attention.

The consequences of global warming are likely to have the earliest and greatest impact on poor nations and poor individuals.  Such people have fewer resources available to cope with major threats.

Christian responses to this include our stewardship of the world God has created and our responsibility to our neighbours, especially the poor and vulnerable.

We accept that the need to act is urgent – governments, businesses, churches and individuals all have a role to play – starting now.

We know these actions are but a drop in the ocean but we have made a start and will continue to strive for sustainability.
