The Verandah

In 1993 the ACT Housing Trust asked the Baptist Community Services if they would like to run a community centre in the Stuart Flats complex in Manuka which they had set up and had been unable to run satisfactorily. We said 'yes' and we painted the whole centre, tidied it up and modified it as a joint effort between three churches: the Baptist, Wesley Uniting and St Paul's. We opened for business 21 April 1994.
